Advice
JHC Support service was set up in 2002 to provide advice and support to Sawston residents who need help. To date over 1500 clients have accessed the service.
Our team of Support Workers are available for appointments at the office and will sometimes make home visits. They can also act as advocates with other agencies.
We work closely with many other organisations including the Medical Centre, Schools, the Children's Centre and the Locality team to name but a few.
We see clients with a wide range of issues including debt, benefits, housing and of course grant applications. We also give emotional support and can be someone to talk to when there are family problems.
It is totally free of charge and confidentiality is assured.
JHC - Sawston Floating Support Service
Sawston floating support service is sponsored jointly by Cambridgeshire County Council supporting people and JHC.
Floating support is assistance provided in your home by a housing support worker to help you with any major housing issues. Any resident in the Sawston area who feels they need extra support with maintaining their tenancy can apply to floating support service. The support offered varies from help claiming benefits, furnishing your home, accessing social and leisure activities, finding training or employment opportunities. Or maybe we can help with finding other accommodation if that is what is needed. The support offered to the client is reviewed every 3 months and can last for up to 2 years.

From January 14th 2010 we will be holding advice drop in sessions at the Children's Centre in Sawston Free Church. Every Thursday 10.30 - 11.30am JHC support workers will be on hand - no appointment necessary.
