We welcome your support!

The charity welcomes a range of contributions from local people and organisations that can help us to support the needs of individuals and families whose circumstances have changed, often at short notice.

Types of donations that really help our work:

Food parcels:

330 bags of food were given out in 2017, a considerable rise on the previous year, and 66 hampers were delivered before Christmas.

Items of food, preferably tinned with a long shelf life: we regularly give out food to those who need it most in our community so any donations, however small, are gratefully received.

Food can be delivered to our office or placed in a container at Budgen’s store in Sawston (near the checkouts). St. Mary’s Church and Sawston Free Church also take donations.

JHC has been in existence for over 450 years and we want to ensure that our work continues for another 450. To do this we must continue to build a solid financial base. As a busy charity working locally we know we could always do more but, as with every other charity, our resources are limited.

John Huntingdon’s Charity was formed by one legacy 450 years ago and what a difference that has made to Sawston. It would be wonderful if that tradition of leaving money, land or property in a will to JHC to benefit local people could continue.

If you are interested in discussing any of these options in confidence with us please call us on 01223 492492 to arrange an informal meeting with one of our team.

Did you know?  344 clients were seen by the JHC Support team in 2017. This 15% increase on 2016 with benefits advice being the top enquiry.
